Hi Everyone and Happy Thursday to you!I've been making this casserole for about 8 years now. You can add any favourite pizza toppings that you enjoy! I've added garlic, worchestershire sauce, tabasco, olives, bacon, diced sweet peppers, onion, pepperoni, mushrooms etc. Use your imagination! The cheese can either be grated or diced, I prefer diced because it is quicker but if I have grated on hand I've used it, too, or you can dice the cheese for the casserole itself and top with grated if you prefer. Enjoy!
Pizza Casserole
3/4 lb. macaroni or pasta shells
1-1/2 lb. ground beef
3 cups pizza sauce
2 cups diced mozzarella or cheddar cheese
Cook pasta in boiling salt water until almost al dente; drain. In skillet, brown ground beef, draining off fat. To ground beef, add sauce and pasta, mix well. Add half the cheese and mix again. Put mixture into a greased 9x13 pan. Top with the rest of the cheese. Cover and bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Remove cover and broil until cheese is brown and bubbly. Serve with a salad.
